A cleaning checklist is the list of jobs done on every visit

A professional house cleaning checklist is the list of tasks a cleaning company does on every standard visit. It tells you what you are paying for before anyone walks through your door. "A full clean" means different things to different companies, and that is where most surprises come from.

The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) lists the weekly jobs every home needs: floors vacuumed or mopped, surfaces dusted, bathrooms cleaned and bed linens changed. A standard visit takes over most of that list. The sections below show exactly how we do each room. Our team brings its own professional supplies and equipment, so you do not need to buy anything. If something is missed, tell us within 48 hours and we come back and re-clean it at no charge.

Every room gets the same six tasks

Some jobs happen in every room, every visit, before the room-specific work. We work top to bottom in each room, so dust from high surfaces is picked up by the floor clean at the end.

• All reachable surfaces dusted, including sills, shelves and furniture
• High-touch points wiped: switch plates, door handles and railings
• Mirrors and interior glass cleaned
• Cobwebs removed from corners and ceilings
• Trash emptied and liners replaced
• Floors vacuumed and hard floors mopped

The kitchen checklist covers counters, sink, stovetop and appliance fronts

The kitchen gets the most daily use, so it gets the most time on a standard visit. The focus is every surface you touch while cooking and eating.

• Countertops cleared, cleaned and disinfected
• Sink scrubbed and fixtures polished
• Stovetop degreased
• Outside of the oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave wiped
• Microwave cleaned inside
• Cabinet fronts spot-cleaned
• Table and chairs wiped down
• Floor vacuumed and mopped, including along the toe kicks

Inside the oven and refrigerator is not part of a standard visit. It is included in a deep clean and a move-out clean.

The bathroom checklist covers toilets, showers, sinks and floors

Bathrooms are cleaned and disinfected in full on every visit. These are the jobs that matter most for hygiene, so none of them is skipped.

• Toilets cleaned and disinfected inside and out, including the base and behind
• Showers and tubs scrubbed, including doors and tracks
• Sinks, counters and fixtures cleaned and polished
• Mirrors cleaned streak-free
• Towels straightened and trash emptied
• Floor vacuumed and mopped, corners and behind the toilet included

Grout scrubbing is a deep-clean task. A weekly or every-two-weeks visit keeps grout from building up, but it does not restore grout that has already darkened.

Bedrooms get beds, surfaces and floors

Bedrooms are about a made bed, dust-free surfaces and clean floors. We tidy what is visible, but we do not move or organize personal belongings.

• Beds made, or linens changed if you leave fresh ones out
• Nightstands, dressers and surfaces dusted
• Mirrors and glass cleaned
• Visible tidying, without moving or organizing personal belongings
• Floors vacuumed, including under the bed where reachable

If you want closets or drawers organized, ask for it as a separate job. It is not part of a cleaning checklist.

Living areas get dusting, upholstery and stairs

Living rooms, family rooms, hallways and stairs collect dust and pet hair fastest, so the focus is on soft surfaces and edges.

• All surfaces and electronics dusted
• Upholstery vacuumed and cushions straightened
• Under and behind reachable furniture vacuumed
• Stairs vacuumed and railings wiped

A standard visit, a deep clean and a move-out clean cover different tasks

This table shows what each type of clean includes. A standard visit keeps a home clean. A deep clean resets it. A move-out clean gets an empty home ready for the landlord’s inspection. Any add-on can be booked with a standard visit.

Deep-clean tasks are not on a standard checklist

Some jobs take too long to fit a regular visit, and they do not need doing every week. Our deep cleaning service covers behind appliances, baseboards, window sills and light fixtures in one visit. Any of these can be added to a standard visit when you book:

• Inside the oven and refrigerator
• Baseboards and trim, wiped by hand
• Grout scrubbing in kitchens and bathrooms
• Light fixtures and ceiling fans
• Interior windows, sills and tracks
• Inside cabinets and drawers (standard on a move-in clean)
• Behind and under furniture and appliances that can be moved safely

A deep clean is a one-time reset. After it, regular visits keep the home at that level, so it never needs another reset. Your own schedule fills the time between visits

A professional visit every week or two takes over the big weekly jobs. What stays with you is the daily 10 to 15 minutes: dishes, counters and a quick pick-up. A move-out clean uses a different checklist
